More from SOG Knives

Go covert with this deep-carry folding knife from SOG. The Pent Arc has a low pocket clip placed on the base of the handle for discreet carry. The blade is an agile spear point, accessed with reversible thumb studs and held in place with the exclusive arc-lock. A bead blast finish minimizes reflectivity for low-profile operation.

Why choose this knife?

  • Spear point blade has tremendous piercing strength
  • Fuller maintains blade’s light weight
  • Arc-lock keeps your fingers away from blade path
  • VG-10 steel takes a very fine edge
  • Slim profile design is comfortable for pocket or boot carry
  • Thumb stud and lock pin are reversible

Why not?

  • Narrow belly blade is not ideal for slicing
  • Bead blasted blade is susceptible to corrosion over time
  • Plain edge does not handle rough or fibrous materials well

Pro tip:
“Blood groove” is a colloquial term for a rounded slot in the side of a blade. It is a common misconception that these grooves are designed to channel blood away from a wound. The proper name for a blood groove is a “fuller” and its actual purpose is to decrease the weight of a blade without compromising strength.

SOG Japan?
Date posted: Feb 25, 2019

I bought this knife after handling the original pentagon folder. That knife was smooth and had solid lockup, with easy arc lock flipping. The pent arc however feels stiff, has side to side play and lock rock. The blade is also off center. For $162 it leaves me wanting. Japan used to build quality knives, not sure what happened. I will not buy another SOG folder.
