Spear point blades are one of the stronger blade shapes in terms of penetration stress. This makes them excellent for thrusting and piercing tasks. The spear point is strong and very controllable. However, it has a smaller cutting edge (belly) compared to drop or clip points and therefore is less suitable for cutting and slicing applications.
