Pro Tip:
The trailing point blade has an extra-sharp tip that sits higher than the axis of the knife’s spine. This shape is designed for piercing soft materials, which is why it is used mostly for hunting and fillet knives. The tip is also very delicate and easily broken off, so extra time and care must be used when returning the knife to its sheath.
