Cold Steel designed the Gurkh Kukri with guidance from the American Bando Association's chief instructor, Dr. Maung Gui. The blade is stamped with the ABA's official logo to pay tribute to his contribution to this versatile tool. The kukri is not only an excellent bush-craft fixed blade, it has tremendous potential as a self-defense weapon, capable of a wide range of piercing, slashing, and hammer strikes. The blade is weighted to shift the balance point towards the tip, providing extra momentum with every swing. It comes with a Secure-Ex belth sheath for convenient carry.

Pro tip:
Recurved blades have a second curve along the cutting edge, creating an S-shape in the middle. This added curvature effectively makes the cutting edge longer and provides a wider degree of cutting angles. This blade shape can be tricky to sharpen though, as it requires continual reorientation of the edge.
